On May 4th, head coach of the women’s team Wolfgang Pichler met the personal coaches of the national team’s athletes. After the meeting the German coach commented on his communication with the personal coaches, talked about confidence in his work, shared his plans for the first training camp and the Champions League final in Munich.

The RBU announces start of the new series autograph-cards' distribution for our foreign supporters! The new series includes cards with the photos of a joint project of the Russian Biathlon Union and Adidas «We could have done any sport, but we chose biathlon!»

Summing up the results of the season Biathlonrus.com gave an opportunity to express his view of biathlon to the person, who made us happy with his work behind the camera during the whole season. The RBU Executive Board’s members have heard suggestions of the Coaches and Expert Councils, made conclusions upon the past season and determined prospects for the next one. Biathlonrus.com publishes the key decisions of the Executive Board – to abolish the position of the national team’s head coach, appoint Lopukhov and Pichler as head coaches of the men’s and women’s teams, and confirm the lists of candidates for the next season.

Past biathlon season brought not only 28 podiums to the Russian team, but also noticeably increased TV ratings of biathlon. Specially for Biathlonrus.com Pavel Kopachev noticed how the main winter sport competed successfully with football and hockey for the past four months.

The Champions race 2012 took place in Moscow on April 7. The leading biathletes of the world had a serious competition and were supported by the Russian fans that came to the stadium even despite of the cold weather. Four months of big biathlon are behind us. A season without Tcherezov, Tchudov and Maximov, but with Malyshko, Garanichev and Lapshin, contradicting debut of Pichler, comeback of Vilukhina and Bulygina, farewell of Neuner and Ekholm, failure of Boe and rise of Fourcade, rollercoasters of Bjoerndalen and main photoproject. The season 2011/2012 was closed by the mass-starts in Khanty-Mansiysk and it already has been a history. The last day of the biathlon’s year will be memorable by a farewell race of Magdalena Neuner, the first victory of the world cup’s total from Martin Fourcade, and of course a young and daring Russian men’s team. The mass-starts among men and women took place in Khanty-Mansiysk on March 18th. Anton Shipulin won Bronze in the men's mass-start, Dmitry Malyshko finished sixth. Belorussian Daria Domracheva celebrated a victory in the women's mass-start. Anna Bogaliy-Titovets was the best among Russian girls, finishing 13th.

Russian Dmitry Malyshko finished fourth in the pursuit race at the world cup in Khanty-Mansiysk. Svetlana Sleptsova was the best among the Russian girls, finishing 17th. Martin Fourcade won the men's pursuit, Daria Domracheva — women's pursuit.

Martin Fourcade and Magdalena Neuner won sprints at the world cup in Khanty-Mansiysk. Dmitry Malyshko was the best among the Russian men, finishing 11th. Ekaterina Glazyrina had the best performance in the women's team, finishing 18th. The sprints were the last races in the nation cups rating. Both Russian teams — women and — men became the winners of the Nation cup this season.

Martin Fourcade and Tora Berger won mass-starts at the world championship in Ruhpolding. Olga Zaitseva placed sixth, but then was disqualified in the women's mass-start. Evgeny Garanichev was the best among Russian men, finishing ninth.

The women's relay took place at the WCH in Ruhpolding. The German's team celebrated a victory in the race, France got Silver and Norway — Bronze. The Russian team finished seventh.

The Russian men’s team finished the relay at the sixth place. Norway won the race, France finished second and Germany took Bronze. 18th Gold of Ole Einar Bjoerndalen and his penalty loop, new experience of Russian team and main goal for sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk are in the photo reportage of Biathlonrus.com.

The Russian team finished sixth in the men's relay at the WCH in Ruhpolding. The Norwegian team celebrated a victory, the French team won Silver and German team — Bronze. Anton Shipulin, Andrey Makoveev, Evgeny Garanichev and Dmitry Malyshko ran the race for the Russian team.

Men's brain storm, dozens of Bengal fires and unlearned poetry — wishing to surprise women with unforgettable 8th of March greetings the men's part of the Russian biathlon team witnessed how flaming 8, made by the Russian biathletes, is turning into an infinite sign of love to women.

The prettiest part of the biathlon elite forgot about the upcoming International Woman's Day and competed in the 15–km individual race. Norwegian Tora Berger won her first personal Gold of the world championships. The Russia girls demonstrated very compact results — three of them placed from the 6th till the 8th place in the final protocol. Russian Olga Zaitseva finished sixth in the individual race at the world championship in Ruhpolding. Svetlana Sleptsova placed seventh, Olga Vilukhina — eighth. Norwegian Tora Bergman celebrated the victory. Marie-Laure Brunet won Silver, Helena Ekholm — Bronze.

Slovenian Jakov Fak won the individual race at the world championship in Ruhpolding. Simon Fourcade and Jaroslav Soukup won Silver and Bronze accordingly. Timofey Lapshin was the best among Russians finishing 14th.

A biathlete of the Russian team Olga Vilukhina has won her first medal at the world championships and became a new hero of our Fans conference.
