World Championship. Men's mass start. Ustyugov — 2nd!

Russian team won another silver medal, this time in men's Mass Start. Olympic Champion Yevgeni Ustyugov confirmed his class ranking 2nd in the last single race of the World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk. Ivan Tcherezov ranked 5th, Andrey Makoveev finished on the 7th position, Maksim Maksimov was 18th and Maxim Tchoudov ranked 30th.

Maksim Maksimov: Frankly speaking, I've got tired of these Championships. I think that today I didn't cope with another burden of responsibility. I tried to concentrate my best at each competition here and do my best. It didn't work out today. I'm happy for Yevgeni Ustyugov. One can say that we have just another silver medal, but we're still happy. I feel exhausted now and want to have a rest.

Ivan Tcherezov: I wouldn't change anything in this race even if I could. I performed well and had just one shooting error at 4 shooting sessions, which is a good result. It was no easy to compete today, because we almost had no time to recover after Relay. On the other hand the skis didn't glide their best. I would call my performance at the WCHs a satisfactory one. On the one hand I return home with a medal, on the other hand I would like to win a medal in a single race here.

Yevgeni Ustygov: I didn't know that we were competing for the gold almost till the finish. The coaches on the course told me the gap Svendsen had from me, but I didn't think we were going to the finish first. Emil is not in his top form now, so he was behind me at the whole lap. But on the last uphill I had no chances. If compared with the medal in Relay, this one is not so important for me. I prefer the Relay one, because 4 people compete their and an error cost is higher there. We compete for the country in Relay. Men's team worked at 70–80% of our potential at these Championships, but I feel we didn't fail the country. And the girls have a medal chance in Relay.
