Daria Domracheva had the best course time in the women’s mass start. Miriam Gossner, who planned to compete in the
French Beatriz was the fastest among men, but with two penalty loops he was so tired, that he could not do anything at the finish, even being in the leading group after the final shooting. Russian Anton Shipulin lost 6,9 seconds and was fourth among the fastest skiers.
Sniper of the day – Tarjei Boe
Only two sportsmen shot zero in the men’s mass start: Norwegian Tarjei Boe and Swedish Bjoern Ferry. The winner of the race was after at the shooting range than the Swedish. No one managed to shoot clean in the women’s race. Olga Vilukhina and Ekaterina Glazyrina shot faster than their competitors; however they both made two mistakes.
Incident of the day – three Russians lost time at the start
Evgeny Ustyugov hooked up the ski of Dmitry Malyshko with his pole, Dmitry was turned around and knocked Evgeny Garanichev down. Three Russians lost time in contact fight. It is not the best job to chase the peloton.
Song of the day – Don’t Speak performed by the Czech biathlete Gabriela Soukalova
After the prize ceremony the Czech biathlete Gabriela Soukalova performed song Don’t Speak – it was nice to hear it.
