    Russian national team will celebrate the New Year on the ongoing training camp in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria. Athletes have arrived to Wien after 7 hours delay because of transport collapse held in Moscow. January, 3rd the team will move to Oberhof to participate in the 4th stage of the World Cup.

    On December, 28th Russian biathlon A-team is going for another training camp to Austrian Ramsau. The athletes stay at Ramsau till January, 3rd and then go to World Cup 4 at Oberhof.

    >Saturday after the women’s sprint race the coaches of the national team have chosen the athletes to participate in the January World Cups and IBU Cups. The RBU Direction has to approve the team’s lists.

    Khanty-Mansiysk Organizing Committee has launched the World Championships Official website. The link is www.ugrasport.com. The site is designed in three language versions, a Russian, an English and a German one. The site deals with the necessary information on the competition schedule, transport, accommodation, media accreditation, etc. The Championships will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk on March 3rd -13th.

    On December, 20th another RBU Direction meeting is to be held. A report about the IBU EB session in Going and the reports about the national teams’ preparation for the World and European Champioships are on the agenda as well as a report on the implementation of the program for biathlon schools and stadiums equipment supply.

    On Monday Udmurtia hosts the oldest of the Russian biathlon competitions «Izhevskaya Vintovka» (Izhevsk Rifle). National team head coach Vladimir Barnashov told biathlonrus.com about the participants of the competitions and about the Coaches Council.

    Yekaterinburg hosts traditional biathlon competitions for the Prize of A. Strepetov, being the first qualification for the Junior and Youth World Champioships. Aleksandr Dobryakov from Perm and Yelena Badanina from Labytnangi won the indivdual competitions.

    RBU President Mikhail Prokhorov received today a letter from biathlete Natalia Burdyga with an appeal to consider her request about the transfer into the Ukrainian tema. Last spring she moved to Ukraine and filed a request to change her sports nationality. RBU has responded negative, but the athlete insists on a second scrutiny. Here is here letter complete.

    On Thursday Russia’s B-team goes to Italian Martell from Obertilliach, where they’ve spent 10 days. First after the end of her doping ban, Yekaterina Yurieva is to start at the IBU Cup 2. B-team chief Valeri Polkhovsky comments Biathlonrus.com on her return.

    Russian national team coaches have decided to include Dmitri Yaroshenko and Yekaterina Yurieva in the enry for the next IBU Cups. On December 4th and 5th respectively the athletes’ bans for doping offences were over and according to the IBU Rules they are eligible for biathlon competitions, including the international ones. The Coaches Council approved the decision to include them in the team’s entry for the IBU Cups.

    After the second competition week, including World Cup and Cup of Russia competitions, Olga Zaitseva ad Anton Shipulin have taken the lead in the RBU rating list. Aleksey Trusov and Anastasia Tokareva are the leaders of the Cup of Russian Total Score.

    Two biathlon schools for children in Arkhangelsk have received 20 shooting targets for small-bore rifle shooting, 10 pneumatic rifles, 4 rifles Biathlon 7-5, 19 roller-skis and skis, ski boots and bindings. 

    Dmitri Vasiliev, member of RBU Direction awarded the equipment to the young biathletes. The 2 times Olympic champion arrived in Arkhangelsk in the mark of the “RBU regional program for the material backup of sports schools and sports complexes of Russia”. The program forms part of RBU development strategy till 2020 and is carried out under the personal control of RBU President Mr. Mikhail Prokhorov. 

    Dmitri Vasiliev visited 3 sports complexes of the region accompanied by president of the local ski federation Vitaly Fortygin, namely the Sports Palace, Arkhangelsk ski stadium named after Kuzin and a local ski training complex. The Sports Palace hosted the ceremony of awarding certificates for the new equipment. Dmitri Vasiliev handed the cerificated directly to young athletes, who also took photos with him and asked for autographs. 

    The aid is destined to the Onega sports school, where train about 600 of young biathletes and the sports school of Koryazhma. Dmitri Vasiliev said that Arkhangelsk region, being well equipped, in future could become a source of new biathlon talents for the national teams f all ages. He added that it doesn´t mean a single project, that the material aid is part of a program to be continued.

    Russian coaches headed by Vladimir Barnashov formed the entry for the women´s sprint competition at Oestersund. 

    Svetlana Sleptsova, Olga Zaitseva, Anna Bogaliy’Titovets, Yana Romanova, Olga Vilukhina and Yekaterina Yurlova will compete in a 15 km race which is scheduled for 16.20 CET.

    Russian B-team has arrived at Obertilliach to hold a short training camp before the start of the second IBU Cup. 

    After the first IBU Cup in Beitostolen, where Russian athletes won 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals, the B-team of Russia moved to Austrian Obertilliach.

    Novosibirsk hosted the first Cup of Russia named “The Prize of Novosibirsk Biathlon School in the memory of G. Kharitonov”. The winners are Aleksey Trusov (Khanty-Mansiysk), Kirill Shcherbakov (Krasnoyarsk region) and Timofey Lapshin (Moscow) among men and Anastasia Tokareva (Tyumen region), Anastasia Romanova (Tyumen region), Olga Abramova (Moscow) among women. The winners of the junior races are Aleksandr Mishkin  (Krasnoyarsk region), Ivan Kryukov (Saint Petersburg), Aleksey Kornev (Moscow) among junior men and Nadezhda Belkina (Mari El), Anna Suraeva (Novosibirsk region), Yekaterina Smirnova (Novosibirsk region) among junior women.     In the second day of the first IBU Cup at Beitostolen Russian men had more luck in the Sprint than yesterday. Victor Vasiliev, Maksim Ikhsanov and Aleksey Churin finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th right after the veteran from Latvia Ilmars Bricis.
