From July 1 till July 3 the meeting of the biathlon organizing committees was held under the aegis of the IBU in Dresden. Russia was presented by the Khanty-Mansiysk and Sochi-2014 organizing committees. The IBU specialists have analyzed the season 2010/11. One of the most important results was the saving of the sponsors' pool. Last year only one sponsor agreement was canceled — with the Swiss watch manufacture RAM. The biathlon audience has increased dramatically after the official IBU site was translated into Russian. The IBU management has also given high praise to the Moscow Champions Race and Khanty-Mansiysk World championship organization committees.
«Summing up the results of the season the IBU president Anders Besseberg has gone into detail on the show-races,» comments the RBU Deputy CEO Alexander Pak, who has participated in the meeting. «Besseberg has noticed that the traditional race in Gelsenkirchen had a lot of the problems last season. The use of the laser rifles instead of the standard was also unsatisfying. On the opposite — the Moscow Champions Race has impressed everybody. Besseberg has stressed out that the Moscow race had a great success not only in Russia.
In the end of the meeting in Dresden the organizing committees have decided to cancel the annual meetings. The international biathlon has reached a high level of the development. There are no global issues which are needed to be settled urgently. The next organizing committees' meeting will take place in Sochi in 2013. This decision was made unanimously.»
