Wolfgang Pichler: Olga Zaitseva had a tactical victory
Head coach of the Russian women's team Wolfgang Pichler commented on the team's performance in the pursuit at the World cup in Oberhof:
«Olga Zaitseva had a result she was ready for. She did everything right and made tight tactical decisions. She controlled situation. This was a great race!
I think that she progressed in functional conditions comparing to December. She finally had good skis. But I think the main reason of the victory is a right tactic. She was calm, and concentrated on shooting.
Today in the evening the team will go to Ruhpolding, and tomorrow they will have a day off. Anastasia Zagoruiko will be the 7th biathlete in the team in Ruhpolding. She will participate in the races there. Another candidate to the team is Larisa Kuznetsova. She got her right to participate in the World cup at the Izhevsk Rifle. She met the qualification criteria. We have rules and we need to obey them.»
