Sergey Efimov: “Girls are back to their level”

Coach of the Russian women's team Sergey Efimov commented on performance of his athletes at the IBU Cup in Idre, Sweden:

«Yesterday it was the first race of the season. The girls were nervous and not everything worked out well for them. After the race, we gathered the athletes, discussed results, made conclusions and worked on mistakes.

Today they did much better in terms of shooting and speed. The conditions at the shooting range were difficult today. Despite of this we have a winner and two athletes in the top-10. This is a good result. Biathletes are getting back to their level, and showing results they are ready for.

Not everything went well for Svetlana Sleptsova. Sveta fell sick yesterday and did not run the race. It was hard for her to start today. I hope, she will improve from race to race.

We are not planning to have rotation after this IBU Cup. Olga Vilukhina will go to the World Cup in Ostersund. Some changes are possible after the IBU Cup in Beitostolen.»
