Irina Starykh: “It is great to rise from the 12th place up to the 2nd at such level”

Biathlete of the Russian team Irina Starykh commented on her performance in the pursuit at the World Cup in Annecy, France:

«Today I slept well. At zeroing, coaches asked my if I was still sleeping. I was a little bit aside, maybe this payed off. Today I set up for the race seriously. I wanted to run the race, to fight. I am glad I shot well. My skis worked very well, I want to thank our service team for that. I felt nice today, and could fight and win back positions.

The last lap was very interesting. I tried to do my best. I outran my competitor and tried to run away… Unfortunately, it did not work. I have a little experience of fighting in contact race at the competitions of such level. However, I am happy with my second place. It is great to rise from the 12th place up to the 2nd at such level.»
