Evgeny Garanichev: “I have not realized yet, that I won Bronze”

Russia's biathlete Evgeny Garanichev commented on his third place in the individual race at the Olympic Games in Sochi:

«I have not realized yet, that I won Bronze. I am satisfied with the race. I am a bit upset with the shooting, but overall I did well at the shooting range. I teared the belt at the first shooting.

The first starting number did not add to nervousness. Nothing special, I prepared for the race. I have not done anything new — just ran and shot. The Olympic Games are succesful for me so far, I improve with every race.

I want to thank our coaches and service team, fans and all my relatives and friends. The coaches stand on the track in every 100 meters and drive you on with all the fans. This is very nice. You work till the finish, try to do your best despite tiredness.

I have not thought of the relays yet. The coaches will decide. There are many races before the relay. I need to keep working.»
